The sky, that night

What hung over us
A waxing gibbous moon — 66% lit — sat almost straight overhead to the north-west.
The wanderers
Jupiter and Saturn were out — bright enough to pick out by eye.
The patterns
Orion, Taurus, and Gemini stood over us.
The same stars are still up there.
